Mangyeong Lee is a trained behavior scientist in digital health. His primary research interests are understanding and improving patient empowerment and engagement in digital health use in terms of human-computer interaction and behavioral medicine. As a postdoctoral researcher, he is currently working at the Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Sciences and Technology (SAIHST), Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) and the Center for Clinical Epidemiology (CCE) of the Samsung Medical Center (SMC), Korea.
He has participated in several qualitative and quantitative studies and clinical trials to figure out the unmet needs for symptom management in cancer patients, as well as to implement digital health behavior change interventions (DHBCIs) and evaluate thier clinical efficacy. Also, he published several papers regarding supportive care in cancer or digital-related health behavior in SCI journals.
Currently, he is responsible for research projects on (1) how to improve digital therapeutic compliance, (2) to develop a chatbot-based symptom management tool, and (3) to evaluate the clinical efficacy of a digital therapeutic for cancer patients. He teaches digital health behavior change interventions (DHBCIs) design and clinical research design of digital therapeutics (DTx) at SAIHST.
